Droitwich Dolphins enjoy another successful gala weekend

DROITWICH Dolphins followed up their recent successes with another victory in the second round of the National Arena League Division Three West.

With 19 victories, 14 second places and eight third place finishes out of 50 events, it was a dominant performance from an ever-improving team.

The most impressive performance came from the ladies open team who wan all seven of their races.

Ruth Hadley lead the way with victories in the open 200m individual medley, 100m backstroke and 100m breastroke while namesake Rebecca won the open 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle.




The pair were joined by Elle Mortimer and Ashleigh Turner to win the open medley relay and also by Anja Kirsty and Eliza Smith to win the six by 50m freestyle relay.

Other victories went to Turner in the under-15 100m backstroke, Smith in the under-15 100m freestyle, Martha Stead in the under-11 50m backstroke and Patrick Florendo in the under-11 50m backstroke.


Will Hughes claimed top spot in the under-11 50m butterfly, George Grech in the under-13 100m breaststroke and freestyle while Huw Hillson won the under-15 100m breaststroke and fly.

Turner and Smith were joined by Kristy and Erin Huxley to win the under-15 freestyle relay while Grech was joined by Guy Duffy, Oliver McCullough and Alex Munro to take victory in the under-13 medley and freestyle relays.

This victory puts the Dolphins in a very strong position going into the third and final round on Saturday, December 10 when they will be going all out to achieve promotion to Division Two.
