DROITWICH Ladies B produced an impressive performance to come away with a winning draw against Boughton in Division Four East of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire League.
Sue Webber and Heather Fellows lost their first match in straight sets before winning their second 7-6, 6-2.
Suzy Levay and Marilyn Sherring also lost their first match in straight sets before a 6-2, 7-5 victory in their second.
Linda Price and Lydia Walker-Cox were playing some terrific tennis to win their first match 6-0, 6-1 before losing against a strong pair 4-6, 1-6 in their second match.
In the end Droitwich won 53 games to Boughton’s 52 to claim a nail-biting victory.
The Men’s D team lost a tight match at home to Division Eight East leaders Wall Heath C with the result leaving them sixth in the table.
Roger Satterthwaite and Evan Goss lost their first match 3-6, 2-6 before a 4-6, 3-6 defeat in their second.
Ian Ross and James Stanford were defeated in their first match 5-7, 2-6 but responded well by winning their second 6-1, 6-4.
Ricky Hollander and Chris Passey were superb for Droitwich as they won both of their matches 1-6, 7-6, 6-4 and 6-2, 6-3.
