DROITWICH Ladies E boosted their survival in Division Nine East of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Winter League with an excellent 4-0 win at home to Hagley.
Caroline Hawley and Jackie Holliday combined well to win their first match 7-5, 6-3 and their second match 6-4, 6-1.
Julie Rhodes and Eileen Probyn-Skinner also demonstrated quality teamwork as they won 6-2, 6-4 in their first match, before showing fighting spirit to win 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in their second and secure the win.
The Mixed B team have kept their survival hopes alive in Division Two following a hard fought winning draw at home to Bewdley A.
Rich Clive and Penny Maidment came through a tight match 7-5, 6-4 before a 4-6, 3-6 loss in their second.
Margaret Hughes and Ben Steel produced a solid performance to win their first match 6-4, 6-0 but lost their second match 1-6, 6-3 4-6.
However, the extra set won gave Droitwich a vital winning draw.
The Ladies C team travelled to Bromsgrove D in Division Six East and played in one of the most enjoyable matches of recent times with all four tennis matches going the distance.
Karen Hay and Jackie Passey were very unlucky not to pick up a win in either of their matches, losing the first 4-6, 6-3, 4-6 and the second 1-6, 6-4, 1-6.
This result though meant Droitwich were relegated.
Suzy Levay and Linda Price picked up a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 victory in their first match before a tight 6-4, 6-7, 3-6 defeat in their second.
Elsewhere, the Men’s A team remain mid-table in Division One following a 3-1 home defeat to Bewdley.
Mark Jones and Jon Sarriegui lost their first match in straight sets before coming closer in their second, losing 3-6, 7-6, 6-7.
Matt Baker and Lee Cowan were edged in two tight sets 6-7, 6-7 but responded well with a determined display in their second, winning 7-5, 4-6, 7-6.
