Droitwich Men’s C succumbed to their first defeat of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire League Division Four season against Bewdley C.
Ben Steel and Rich Clive lost a hard-fought battle 6-7, 6-7 before responding well with a 6-4 6-3 victory in their second match.
John Moran and Dave Wicks battled from a set down to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 but then unfortunately suffered a 4-6, 3-6 loss in their second match.
Despite their best efforts, Carlos Segura and Robin Jones lost both of their matches, 3-6, 6-3, 1-6 in their first and 4-6, 1-6 in their second which confirmed the 4-2 win for Bewdley.
The Men’s A team showed they are more than capable of holding their own in Division One with a losing draw to title chasing Manor Park A.
Ben Buckley and James Nam were unfortunate to lose their first match as it went the distance, ending 6-3, 5-7, 6-7.
Buckley and Nam then lost against a strong pair 3-6, 4-6 in their second match.
Mark Jones and Jon Sarriegui lost in straight sets in their first match before a superb 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 win in their second.
Lee Cowan and Matt Baker were the dominant pairing for Droitwich as they picked up two three set victories.
Despite these wins, the two extra sets won by Manor Park meant they claimed the extra points.
