DROITWICH Men’s A succumbed to a 4-2 defeat to David Lloyd Bromsgrove in Division One of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Summer League despite a spirited performance.
Lee Cowan and Matthew Baker had a comfortable win in their first match before losing a tight three-setter in their second.
Ben Buckley and Scott Howell also won their first match before a defeat in the next game.
Ian Bowman and Eric Cartelet battled to the bitter end in both of their matches but were unlucky to lose them both, 6-4, 7-5 in the first and 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 in the second.
Their was better luck however for the Mixed B team as they triumphed against Bewdley C in Division Three East.
Kate Hughes and Robin Jones played some excellent tennis to win both of their matches 6-1, 6-1 and 7-5, 6-0.
John Moran and Penny Maidment were equally as sublime as they also won both of their matches by the same scoreline of 6-3, 6-1 to seal a comfortable victory which leaves them second in the table.
