Droitwich rally driver Delaney wows the crowd at Race Retro event

TEENAGE rally driver Tom Delaney entertained the crowd at the Race Retro show in Stoneleigh.

The 17-year-old from Droitwich took part in the event which involved a rally stage with the opportunity to give passenger rides.

After being invited to the event, Tom wasted no time in securing the use of a suitable historical rally car.

SVP Motorsport offered their FIA Group A Peugeot 205 GTI as Tom was unable to use his more modern Suzuki Swift for the event.

And he certainly entertained the crowds on the incredibly slippery surface as a large queue had formed to take advantage of riding through the short but testing two-mile stage with him.

Tom said: “It was a great opportunity for some more seat time in a car and it was great fun in an historic one too.

“The really low grip levels allowed us to put on a show for the spectators and guests approaching all the corners at ridiculous angles.”

The next event for Tom is the Malcolm Wilson Rally based in the Lake District forests on Saturday.
