Droitwich Spa hoping to beat the weather for county cup semi at Feckenham

DROITWICH Spa will be hoping to beat the weather this weekend so they can take on Feckenham in the semi-finals of the Worcestershire FA Saturday Junior Cup.

The two Midland League Division Two sides could not battle it out last Saturday as the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at The Entaco.

As county cup ties take precedent over league matches, the Saltmen and the Millers will hope Saturday’s match gets the go-ahead before a fixture pile-up grows as they enter the second half of the season.

Spa joint-boss Wayne Oliver told the Standard: “As much as it is frustrating that we have not played twice in six weeks, there is nothing we can do about the weather.

“We could do with this weekend’s match getting the go-ahead so the players can get back on the field.

“The forecast does not look to good, however, so it might be a case of waking up on Saturday morning and hoping the game is not postponed.”
