DROITWICH Spa have been officially crowned Worcestershire County League Division Two Second XI champions.
Spa clinched the title after finishing eight points clear of second-placed Cookley who pushed Droitwich all the way for the league crown.
The St Peter’s Playing Field side won 14 of their 22 games on route to the title, with James King (476) finishing as the highest run scorer and Martin Woodward (54) ending as the leading wicket taker.
Skipper Karl Goddard collected the league trophy at the WCL’s annual presentation dinner which was held at the Stourport Manor Hotel.
MCC president and former Sussex captain John Barclay and league administrator Chris Marsh handed over the trophy.
