DEBUTANT Archie Woodall came off the bench to score a last gasp winner as Droitwich Spa returned to winning ways with a dramatic 3-2 victory at Heather St. John’s.

Woodall struck in the 96th minute to end Spa’s three-game losing run in all competitions after James Lemon and Alex Dugmore twice put the Saltmen in front at St John’s Park.

The result means Droitwich sit third in the Midland Football League Division One table, 13 points behind leaders Hinckley AFC with three games in hand.

Spa made a bright start and took the lead on four minutes as the returning Lemon broke the deadlock with his seventh goal of the season.

However, the division’s top goalscorer, Kyle Jardine, equalised for Heather just past the hour mark, firing home his 22nd goal of the campaign in just 17 appearances.

Andy Crowther’s side reclaimed the lead with 10 minutes left to play as Dugmore rose highest to plant a trademark header into the net.

Heather levelled the scores again in the final minute of regulation time when Jordan Holmes found the net.

However, Spa responded in the sixth minute of injury time as debutant Woodall produced a venomous strike from 30-yards out to secure the points at the death.

Droitwich are next in action at home to Ingles on Saturday, December 23 with kick-off at 3pm at the King George Playing Fields.
