DROITWICH Spa conceded in injury time to draw 1-1 away at Ludlow Town as the club’s winless run stretched to three matches in all competitions.

A late goal from Perry Moss looked to have secured the points for Spa only for Connor Davies-Austin to equalise for Ludlow deep into injury time at Bromfield Road.

The result means Droitwich lead the Hellenic League Division One table by six points.

And Spa’s current three-game winless run is the club’s longest without a victory in over a year.

The game’s first chance fell to Saltmen captain James Lemon after he won possession on the edge of the Ludlow penalty area and fired narrowly wide on the turn.

Spa survived a scare soon after when Harry Jones intercepted a square ball only to fire well over the crossbar from a promising position.

Droitwich responded with a chance of their own as Ludlow goalkeeper Zach Venables tipped Josh Hurdman’s half volley around the post on the quarter-hour mark.

And Venables came to Ludlow’s rescue again moments later as he scrambled across his goal to claw Moss’s powerful header to safety.

Spa remained on top as Charlie Tilley shot inches wide with Lemon just unable to turn home Hurdman’s cross soon after.

The visitors spurned a glorious chance to break the deadlock moments before the interval as Moss fired over from close range with only Venables to beat.

Ludlow went close to the opening goal after the break as Dom Rogerson tipped Jamie Richards’ effort onto the crossbar.

Spa almost took the lead at the other end as Josh Bull cleared Lemon’s header from a corner off the line.

Substitute and new signing Ben Tilbury came off the bench just past the hour mark and almost made an immediate impact when his shot on the turn deflected wide.

Fellow substitute Kyonn Evans was next to go close as he burst through on goal only for Venables to save with his legs.

However, Spa won a penalty on 77 minutes when a Ludlow player tripped Tilley in the box and the referee pointed to the spot.

And Moss converted the resulting penalty to give Spa the lead.

Droitwich looked to seal the points as Venables denied Lemon with five minutes left to play before Evans fired wide when through on goal.

Ludlow piled on the pressure at the death and hit the crossbar with a header before Rogerson kept out George Crump’s bouncing effort.

However, in a late twist, Ludlow equalised four minutes into injury time as Davies-Austin prodded home a cross from the left from close range after Spa failed to properly clear their lines.

Droitwich are next in action against Wellington on Tuesday, February 4 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the King George Playing Fields.
