DROITWICH Spa have been drawn at home in First Round Qualifying of the FA Vase.

The Saltmen will face old Midland Football League Division One rivals Nuneaton Griff.

The game will take place on Saturday, August 24 with kick-off at 3pm at the King George Playing Fields.

And the winners of that tie will then travel to either Bewdley Town or AFC Bridgnorth in Second Round Qualifying.

Spa began pre-season with a 2-2 draw away at New Dales Vale.

Ollie Thompson fired the Saltmen into the lead only for the home side to equalise before the break at Windermere Drive.

And Vale completed the turnaround early in the second half before James Lemon saw his penalty saved.

However, Droitwich eventually drew level against their Herefordshire Premier League opponents courtesy of a Lucas Edmonds header.

Spa entertain Phil Brown’s Kidderminster Harriers in their next pre-season friendly.

The National League North side make the trip to Kingy’s and are set to field a strong side as they ramp up their preparations for the new season.

Droitwich are anticipating a large crowd and have encouraged supporters to buy tickets online although tickets are available at the turnstiles on the day of the game with cash and card payments accepted.
