DROITWICH Spa put six goals past Nuneaton Griff in the FA Vase before easing to victory against Wantage Town on their return to league action.
The Saltmen eased into the next round of the FA Vase as Alex Dugmore scored twice with further goals from Perry Moss, Josh Hurdman, Jack Davies and Nathan Binner in a 6-2 success at the King George Playing Fields.
And Spa backed up that result with a 4-1 win against Wantage in the league as Dugmore again netted a brace with Cory Rudd and Hurdman also on target at Kingy’s.
Victory in the Vase means Spa will travel to Bewdley Town in Second Round Qualifying on Saturday, September 21 with kick-off at 3pm at Ribbesford Meadows.
And Spa also remain top of the Hellenic League Division One table, six points clear of upcoming Vase opponents Bewdley.
Against Nuneaton, Spa fell behind on 15 minutes when Jared Bradshaw’s corner looped over everyone and into the far corner.
Spa were level just four minutes later as Moss cut inside and curled a fine effort over Declan O’Donnell in the Nuneaton goal from the edge of the penalty area.
Moss was forced off with a knock soon after only for his replacement Binner to cross for Dugmore to finish from close range moments after his introduction from the bench.
The home side extended their lead early in the second period as Dugmore intercepted a poor pass and finished well to score his second of the game.
Griff kept themselves in the contest when Lewis Campbell produced a powerful header from a corner to reduce the deficit.
However, a quickfire double put Spa in command as Binner finished from close range before Davies powered a shot home from 20-yards out to score the Saltmen’s fifth goal of the game.
And Hurdman completed the scoring before the hour mark with a superb effort from distance which looped into the top corner.
Spa were back in action just two days later as the Saltmen overcame Wantage to secure a sixth successive league victory despite playing the entirety of the second half with 10-men.
Andy Crowther’s side took the lead on 25 minutes when Dugmore’s emphatic finish found the net from Charlie Tilley’s chipped through ball.
However, Spa lost captain James Lemon to a red card on 37 minutes following a challenge for a loose ball with Wantage’s Josh Dopson.
Lemon hobbled off following the challenge and had to be taken to hospital with Dopson able to continue.
Despite playing with a man less, Spa doubled their lead three minutes before the break as Rudd scored from close range from Binner’s clever free-kick to the near post.
And the Saltmen all but sealed the points five minutes after the break as Dugmore headed home Binner’s corner.
Wantage reduced the deficit on 58 minutes as Freddie Morlock weaved his way through the Spa defence before finding the bottom corner.
And the visitors spurned a golden chance to cut the deficit further when Lewis Phillips committed a foul in the box and substitute Charles Knight hit the post from the penalty spot.
The Saltmen then won a penalty of their own as Hurdman drew a foul in the box only for Thomas Rees to save Binner’s low effort.
However, Hurdman completed the scoring after turning his man inside out before beating Rees at his near post.
Droitwich are next in action against Bewdley on Saturday, August 31 in a top-of-the-table clash with kick-off at 3pm at Kingy’s.
