JOSH Hurdman scored a first-half hat-trick as Droitwich Spa recorded an emphatic 7-0 win away at Chelmsley Town.

Spa scored all seven goals in a remarkable opening 45 minutes at Pack Meadow with Hurdman’s treble supported by a brace from Perry Moss with further goals from Charlie Tilley and Nathan Binner.

And the result means Droitwich sit fourth in the Midland Football League Division One table with four matches left to play.

The Saltmen made a blistering start as Moss broke the deadlock after just four minutes after Connor Collins beat the offside trap and squared the ball into the midfielder’s path.

And Spa struck again four minutes later when Hurdman latched onto a long ball over the top before sending a lobbed effort over Chelmsley goalkeeper Liam Moss.

The visitors scored their third goal on 15 minutes as Hurdman grabbed his second of the game with a finish past Moss when one-on-one.

Andy Crowther’s side scored again two minutes later when Tilley let fly from 20-yards out and found the net.

Spa scored their fifth goal after just 33 minutes as Binner picked out the top corner from 25-yards out after good work from Hurdman and Luke Molloy.

A remarkable first-half display saw the Saltmen add their sixth goal on 36 minutes when Moss scored his second of the game after turning his man inside out.

And Hurdman completed his first senior hat-trick and the scoring one minute before the break after he beat Moss to a loose ball before finishing into an empty net.

Droitwich host Stapenhill on Tuesday, April 16 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the King George Playing Fields.
