DROITWICH Spa played out a goalless draw at Cinderford Town despite Jamie Sauntson seeing red just past the hour mark.
Spa lost defender Sauntson to a red card on 65 minutes at Edge Hills Road with the game still goalless.
However, neither team could make the breakthrough as the Saltmen stretched their unbeaten run to 10 matches in all competitions.
The result means Droitwich slip to second in the Hellenic League Premier Division table, behind leaders Roman Glass St George on goal difference.
Spa created the best chance of the first half as Cinderford goalkeeper Lewis Adams kept out Perry Moss’s shot after good work from Jack Brighton.
Droitwich midfielder Nathan Binner then fired wide from the edge of the penalty area in a half of few clear-cut chances.
Cinderford also created openings to score as Owen Taylor and McCauley Power both failed to seriously trouble Dom Rogerson in the Spa net.
The half ended with Reiss Taylor-Randle seeing his header deflected into the path of Adams who held on to the ball well.
Andy Crowther’s side struggled after the break although Binner forced Adams into a simple save at the beginning of the second period.
Cinderford responded with a chance of their own as Rogerson tipped Power’s effort from distance over the crossbar.
And Power then blazed a volley over the crossbar from close range from the resulting set-piece.
The Saltmen lost Sauntson to a straight red card on 65 minutes after he tangled with Cinderford’s Kian Davies.
However, Spa carved out the better chances late on as Charlie Tilley and James Lemon both went close to breaking the deadlock.
The visitors should have snatched the points at the death when Lemon took the ball around Adams and looked to square the ball to Joe Hurdman.
However, the substitute scuffed an effort into the ground from close range with the goal at his mercy.
And Hurdman went close again in injury time as Adams kept out his goalbound effort which seemed destined for the bottom corner.
