DROITWICH Spa romped to a 6-2 win against Bewdley Town as the Saltmen continued their stunning start to the season.
Both Alex Dugmore and Josh Hurdman netted braces with Perry Moss and Charlie Tilley also on target at the King George Playing Fields.
The result means Droitwich remain top of the Hellenic League Division One table having won all seven of their league matches this season.
Spa made the perfect start as Dugmore broke the deadlock inside two minutes when his looping headed found the corner of the goal.
However, Bewdley equalised on seven minutes as Michael Bridges sent an unstoppable free-kick into the top corner from 30-yards out.
The home side almost reclaimed the lead only for Nathan Binner’s free-kick to hit the underside of the crossbar and bounce to safety.
Bewdley completed the turnaround on 31 minutes when Elliott Lees smashed home a corner from close range.
However, Spa equalised virtually straight from the restart as Moss crossed for Hurdman to finish emphatically from close range.
Andy Crowther’s side reclaimed the lead early in the second half when Moss scored from the penalty spot after Bewdley committed a handball offence in the box.
Spa stretched their lead on 62 minutes as Dugmore powered home a header from Binner’s excellent cross.
And the Saltmen made sure of the points on 74 minutes when Tilley turned home Binner’s low cross.
Spa completed the scoring on 83 minutes as Hurdman grabbed his second of the game when he met Jack Brighton’s cross at the back post.
Droitwich are next in action against Southam United in the Marsh Challenge Cup on Saturday, September 7 with kick-off at 3pm at the King George Playing Fields.
