ALEX Dugmore scored four goals as Droitwich Spa secured their first win at Step Five with a 5-0 thrashing of Westfields, writes Caitlin Valle.
Dugmore netted twice before the break to put the Saltmen in command before half time at the King George Playing Fields.
And the striker scored twice more after the interval while Charlie Tilley also found the net to earn Spa their first league win of the season.
The victory lifts Droitwich up to fourth in the Hellenic League Premier Division table.
Andy Crowther’s side took the lead after just seven minutes when Dugmore headed in a corner from close range.
And Dugmore struck again on 23 minutes when he lobbed the ball over the Westfields goalkeeper following a neat exchange with James Lemon.
The Spa striker completed his hat-trick on 53 minutes after he again combined with Lemon.
And Tilley extended Spa’s lead on 63 minutes when a deflected cross fell kindly into his path and the Droitwich man volleyed the ball into the bottom corner.
Dugmore completed the scoring with his fourth goal of the game in the final minute after good work from Joe and Sam Hurdman.
The victory marked the perfect way for Spa to begin life at home as a Step Five club.
Droitwich are next in action against Thornbury Town on Saturday, August 9 with kick-off at 3pm at the Mundy Playing Fields.
