HAYDN MORRIS scored a hat-trick as Droitwich Spa secured a 10th successive win in all competitions with a 4-0 derby victory against Bromyard Town.
Morris scored his first treble for the club with his replacement Perry Moss also on target at Malvern Town’s HDAnywhere Stadium.
The result means Spa remain second in the West Midlands (Regional) League Division One table, 19 points behind leaders Gornal Athletic with five games in hand.
And the Saltmen spurned a host of chances in the first half with James Lemon just failing to connect with Luke Molloy’s cross whilst Connor Collins and Cory Rudd were also unable to break the deadlock
Morris then gave Droitwich the lead on 15 minutes when he converted Lemon’s low cross from six-yards out to leave Bromyard goalkeeper Alex Rhodes with no chance.
And Morris quickly doubled the Saltmen’s lead when he capitalised on a defensive error before clinically finishing past Rhodes into the bottom corner.
The visitors almost reduced the deficit when former Spa player Ollie Thompson saw a close range effort saved low down by Matt Oliver before the rebound hit the post.
And Morris completed his hat-trick in the second half with a sublime low drive from the edge of the penalty area after Molloy, Lemon and Rudd had all threatened the Bromyard goal.
Droitwich wrapped up the win when substitute Moss scored a wonderful solo goal, turning the Town defence inside out, before striking across goal into the bottom corner.
Spa are next in action away at FC Darlaston on Saturday, April 2 with kick-off at 3pm at Bilston Town’s Queen Street ground.
