PERRY Moss scored a brace as Droitwich Spa claimed a 2-0 win against higher-division Sporting Club Inkberrow in the Worcestershire Senior Cup.
Moss netted either side of half time to seal Spa’s place in the next round at the King George Playing Fields.
And Inkberrow had Samson Hewett sent off late on as the Step Four side finished the game with 10-men.
The result means Spa have now won their last five games in all competitions and stretched their unbeaten run to nine matches.
Andy Crowther’s side made the perfect start when Moss beat Inkberrow goalkeeper Tom Nicholls to a loose ball and finished into an empty net.
Inkberrow responded with a couple of chances of their own as Leo Brown saw his shot blocked before Dom Rogerson held Hewett’s volley from 20-yards out.
However, the home side almost doubled their lead on 15 minutes when James Lemon saw his lob beat Nicholls but travel the wrong side of the post.
Inkberrow spurned a glorious chance to draw level on the stroke of half time at Nathan Benson headed over when well-placed in the box.
Spa looked for a second goal after the break as Nicholls tipped Jay Sauntson’s header over the crossbar.
And Nicholls made another crucial stop moments later with an acrobatic save to keep out Lemon’s flying header.
However, the Saltmen eventually doubled their lead on 65 minutes when Moss chipped the ball over Nicholls after Nathan Binner’s initial cross evaded the head of Lemon.
Spa were presented with another chance soon after as Nicholls missed the ball when attempting to clear 35-yards from goal with Reiss Taylor-Randle unable to hit the target.
Inkberrow player Hewett then received a straight red card on 75 minutes for a late challenge on Binner.
Despite playing with a man less, Inkberrow created a couple of chances as Rogerson held efforts from Noah Rubio and Jay Higgins-Pugsley.
However, Spa held firm to book their place in the second round of the competition.
