DROITWICH Spa romped to a comprehensive 5-1 victory against Paget Rangers as the Saltmen returned to winning ways in the league in style.

James Lemon struck twice in the opening 10 minutes with Alex Dugmore, Perry Moss and Keatley Charles all on target in a superb victory at the King George Playing Fields.

The result leaves Droitwich in sixth place in the Midland Football League Division One table.

And Spa were quick out of the blocks as Lemon opened the scoring after just two minutes when his near post header beat Paget goalkeeper Tommy Doyle from close range.

Droitwich’s captain soon had his second goal when he tapped home on 10 minutes after good work between Moss and Jack Brighton down the right which ended with the latter teeing up Lemon to double Spa’s lead.

Andy Crowther’s side wasted numerous chances to put the game to bed as Lemon was denied by Doyle when through on goal before Moss flashed an effort the wrong side of the post.

However, Spa extended their lead when Dugmore rose highest to power home a header midway through the half to score a trademark goal.

And Moss then scored arguably the goal of the game in the second period as his superb first-time volley found the bottom corner from Haydn Morris’s fantastic looped ball.

The scoring was complete when Charles drilled an effort home from the edge of the penalty area, via the aid of a deflection.

Paget netted a consolation late on when Scott Braiden-Smith fouled Dominic Ellington in the area and Leslie Omorodion converted the resulting spot kick.

Droitwich are next in action away at Wednesfield on Tuesday, December 6 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Cottage Ground.
