CONNOR Collins scored two early goals as Droitwich Spa claimed a stunning 4-2 win away at league leaders Dudley Town to move up to third in the table.
Collins netted twice in the first 19 minutes before late goals from Sam Hurdman and James Lemon sealed a memorable win for the Saltmen despite a spirited Dudley fightback at the Guardian Warehousing Arena.
The result means Droitwich sit third in the Midland Football League Division One table, having extended their unbeaten run to six matches.
Andy Crowther’s side made the perfect start when Collins produced a sublime chip over the Dudley goalkeeper after just three minutes.
However Town stopper Ethan Hawkes then denied Perry Moss and Collins before Dudley wasted three chances at the other end.
And Droitwich doubled their lead on 19 minutes when Collins headed home from close range only for Dudley to pull a goal back through Harry Crook’s penalty after he was fouled in the box by Jack Brighton.
Dudley showed their class to draw level on 52 minutes as Alex Cameron beat the offside trap and fired the ball into the bottom corner having struck the post with a similar effort minutes earlier.
However, Cameron was sent off for a second bookable offence on 74 minutes after he made a late challenge on Dugmore.
And that would prove to be turning point as Spa made their man advantage count on 79 minutes when substitute Hurdman found the net with a low drive from the edge of the penalty area through a crowd of bodies.
The Saltmen sealed the points on 89 minutes when substitutes Lemon and Hurdman combined as the latter tricked his way into the box and the former finished into an empty net from two-yards out.
Droitwich are next in action away at Heath Hayes TONIGHT (Tuesday, April 4) with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Coppice Colliery Ground.
