JOSH Hurdman’s 89th minute goal ensured Drotiwich Spa’s under-21’s clinched the league title with a remarkable 7-0 win against Hampton in their final game of the season.

Spa needed to win by a seven-goal margin to leapfrog Boldmere St. Michaels into top spot and produced a sensational performance to secure the Midland Football League Under-21’s West title on goals scored.

Droitwich made the perfect start as Ilvius Murati and Louis Mitchell both struck in the opening 10 minutes to set Spa on their way.

And further goals from Hurdman and Murati put the Saltmen into a four-goal lead at the break.

Hurdman doubled his tally for the game shortly after the break before Josh Harrison’s goal meant Spa needed to score once more in the final 15 minutes to clinch the title.

And Hurdman duly delivered as he sealed his hat-trick in the final minute of regulation time to crown an extraordinary display at the King George Playing Fields.

The result meant Spa finished on the same number of points (34) and goal difference (+42) as Boldmere but scored 65 goals to Boldmere’s 57 in just 16 matches which proved enough to seal the title.

Jamie Wall’s side enjoyed a fine league campaign which saw them triumph in 11 of their 16 league matches and won their final four games by an aggregate score of 24-1 to overtake Boldmere at the top of the table.
