CHARLIE Tilley scored a first-half brace as Droitwich Spa secured an impressive 2-0 win away at Stapenhill to earn a fourth successive victory on the road.
Tilley scored two quickfire goals to put Spa in command at Maple Grove as the Saltmen recorded only their second clean sheet of the season.
The result means Droitwich sit fourth in the Midland Football League Division One table, six points behind leaders Hinckley with a game in hand.
Spa boss Andy Crowther called up academy players Woody Hawkett and Danny Barnes to the first team squad with a number of key players missing.
And the Saltmen took the lead inside the opening 10 minutes when Tilley fired home past Stapenhill goalkeeper Paul Hollis after a series of blocks.
The midfielder scored his second of the game soon after, timing his run to perfection to head home and inflict Stapenhill’s first home defeat of the season.
Elsewhere, the club’s under-21’s side thrashed Coalville Town Ravens 9-0 in their latest league outing while the under-18’s beat Aylestone Park with a dramatic injury time winner.
Droitwich are next in action at home to Wolverhampton Sporting Community on Saturday, September 30 with kick-off at 3pm at the King George Playing Fields.
