HALFORDS Yuasa Racing’s Dan Cammish says he is in top form ahead of the sixth round of the British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton next weekend.
Cammish, who claimed two podium places for the Droitwich-based team in round five at Oulton Park, currently sits fifth in the Drivers’ Championship on 130 points, and will be hoping to close the gap to the top three.
He believes that his previous performance before the summer break has put him in good stead to challenge for the remainder of the season.
“A double podium at Oulton has put me back into the Championship hunt and I’ll be looking to keep that form for the second half of the season,” he said.
“I ran well in testing at Snetterton recently, being near the top of the time sheets all day, so I go there with my tail held high and looking to keep adding to my points tally and build on my current position.”
His teammate Matt Neal, meanwhile, is looking to avoid a repeat of the turbulent weekend that he suffered last time out.
“Oulton Park was another weekend where the luck just wasn’t on our side,” he said.
“But on to Snetterton, I have had some great battles there over the years and obviously want to replicate my ‘Double Diamond’ win there last year.
“During the recent test, we ran through a number of changes on the car and feel confident that we should have good race pace come the weekend.”
In the last nine seasons alone, Honda have walked away with six race wins on the Snetterton track, so will be confident of further success to close the gap to leaders BMW in the Manufacturers’ Championship.
