CONVINCING wins for the top two in the Mid-West Premiership mean the picture stayed the same after round 20 in the Droitwich Pool League.

Leaders Barlow Mow bumped up their lead at the top to 19 points after the biggest win of the week, running out 8-1 winners on home turf against DWMC.

Second-placed Masons All Chalked Up remain in the chase after a straightforward 7-2 triumph against 11th-placed Rifle No Mans, while Never in Salted kept hold of third place after shading a 5-4 encounter with basement side The Pillar of Salt.

Second-bottom The Star and Garter pushed Wessie Wanderers all the way in their away fixture on Wednesday night, losing 5-4.

Wessie move up two places to ninth.

Salt ‘n’ Asbo’s saw off eighth-placed Hop Pole in an entertaining 6-3 win, keeping them in fourth and on the tails of the top three.

The Doverdale Arms and The Pillar of Dreams sit fifth and sixth respectively, so it was no surprise that their encounter was also closely fought.

A 5-4 win in favour of the visiting Arms was not the stuff of Dreams for the hosts in a match that went down to the final frame.

Pillar of Dreams stay fifth on 89 points, with Doverdale Arms just a single point behind in sixth.
