MASONS Chalked Up lost further ground in their Mid-West Premiership title bid after a shock 5-4 defeat away to The Hop Pole.

In the stand-out result of the week 27 fixtures, Hop Pole added yet another upset to their tally this season – having inflicted the only defeat on The Barley Mow so far – to strengthen their hold of eighth place.

Leaders Barley Mow extended their advantage to 31 points with only three matches left to play following a 7-2 success against The Pillar of Dreams (sixth).

Salt ‘n’ Asbo’s are closing in on third-placed Never in Salted after beating The Dovey (ninth) 6-3.

The gap between third and fourth has been cut to just two points, after NIS’s 6-3 reverse at fifth-placed The Doverdale Arms.

Rifle No Mans have dropped to the foot of the table after their 6-3 loss to DWMC (seventh), as The Star & Garter beat second-bottom The Pillar of Salt to move from the basement spot to 11th.
