DROITWICH Spa joint-manager Wayne Oliver insists March will define the club’s league position following the recent fixtures announcement from the Midland League.
The Saltmen face off against Division Two title rivals Chelmsley Town and Rostance Edwards on March 5 and 12 respectively, followed by a trip to Austrey Rangers on March 19 before ending the month with a journey to Paget Rangers on March 28.
Spa currently sit second in the table but face stiff competition for the two promotion spots from Chelmsley, Rostance and Alvis Sporting Club.
And with another tough month on the cards, including three away games, Oliver believes March will decide where his side finish in the league.
“March will definitely shape the league,” he said.
“Only the top two in this league go up – should they meet the ground grading criteria – so this time next month, we will know where we will finish.
“It’s going to be a tough month but we just have to keep on winning and focusing on ourselves.”
The Saltmen travel to Sutton United this Saturday (February 27) for a Les James Challenge Cup quarter-final tie coming off the back of a 3-0 league win against Hampton last Saturday courtesy of a James Lemon hat-trick.
Spa are in good form at the moment, and are unbeaten in their last 20 games in all competitions, but Oliver stated things don’t get any easier for his squad.
“Sutton are a really good side and have a really tight pitch,” he added.
“It’s a really tough place to go to and we have to be on our game.
“It’s a massive incentive for our lads as there’s a semi-final place on the line.
“We created a lot of chances against Hampton on Saturday which was pleasing and I hope that continues.
“The players avoided getting involved with Hampton’s game plan and we just went on with our business.
“I give a lot of credit to my players for not reacting.”
The club are once again offering travel for any fans wishing to go to the game at Sutton United but only three spaces remain.
