SIAN O’Toole ensured the season ended on a high for Droitwich Amateur Boxing Academy and herself with a stylish victory.
The youngster made the long journey up to Hull but the trip was certainly worth it as she stopped Jessica Harrington in the third round following a powerful display.
O’Toole’s superb straight shots began overwhelming her opponent of the Headstrong Boxing Academy from the first bell.
A combination of strength and powerful body punches then had Harrington pinned in the corner for much of the second round before her domination forced the referee to call a halt to the contest in the third.
The win means that O’Toole is the first female Droitwich Academy boxer to go the whole season undefeated much to the delight of her coach, Jason Doyle.
“I couldn’t have asked any more of Sian this season,” he said. “She really does deserve the success that has been achieved as she has never missed a training session, gets all of her sparring in and is fully dedicated to the sport.
“She is a top prospect and will be boxing at championship level next season.”
Any ladies wishing to follow O’Toole’s lead are being encouraged to attend the Ladies Only training sessions at the Academy’s King George Playing Fields HQ.
These take place between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Thursdays and 10.30am and 11.30am on Saturday mornings.
