ASH FEARNALL collected two awards as Droitwich Spa CC brought the curtain down on the 2017 season with its annual dinner and awards evening at Gaudet Luce Golf Club.
After scoring more than 1,000 runs this summer, Fearnall was presented with two 1st team awards for overall player and batsman of the season, with Phil Thomas winning the prize for most wickets.
The players of the season for the 2nds, 3rds and 4ths were Carl Thomson, Matt Gurr and Jacey Foster respectively.
Ollie Sankey collected the Young Player of the Year, while Paul Foster claimed the third team award for leading wicket-taker accolade for an incredible eighth season in a row.
Meanwhile, 11 Droitwich youngsters have been selected for the Worcestershire Development Programme over the coming winter – more than half of those nominated for trials from the club for the county’s boys and girls under-11 to under-17 age groups.
