ANDY POWELL made the most of the very cold weather conditions at Woodland View Fishery to claim victory in a five-hour gruelling Saturday Open.

Fishing worm and caster on peg 26 at Deans, Powell secured victory in the snowy conditions, fishing 55lbs.

Charlie Vallender (peg 5) came in second after fishing a total of 36.12lbs while Andy Powell (peg 29) finished third with 32.8lbs.

MAT BLACKMORE finished first in the Sunday Open as the change in weather conditions and early morning frost helped to see bigger weights caught.

Fishing short and pellet on peg 39 at Deans, Blackmore dominated the proceedings to catch 102.6lbs.

Tony Witcher (peg 54) came in second with a total of 90.8lbs with Neil Franks (peg 60) securing third with 85.4lbs.

John Stone (peg 1) was well behind in fourth with his catch of 68.10lbs.
