THE Saltmen rose to fourth in the table on Wednesday night, after a three game winless run was ended with a 3-0 victory against Bustleholme at the weekend, followed up by the 2-0 win in midweek over Wyrley.
The opening goal against tenth-placed Wyrley came courtesy of Chris Conway’s header, later supplemented by Brad Burgess’ strike to see Droitwich through to another valuable three points in their push for the top three.
A quick start in Saturday’s game downed struggling Bustleholme, taking a 2-0 lead within the first six minutes.
Ben Tilbury’s free-kick was driven into the bottom corner, whilst Callum Morris calmly swept the ball past the onrushing visiting keeper – his fifth goal in two games.
Tilbury extended the lead with a penalty later in the half, which was in great contrast to a drab second-half, where no further goals were scored – despite a 10-0 scoreline in the reverse game.
With no game this weekend, Droitwich Spa next host 13th-placed Bromyard Town at Walshes Meadow on Saturday April 7 (3pm).
