TWO sisters from Droitwich Spa Judo Kan took medals in the British Schools Championship in Sheffield.

Megan Skillern, who competed on behalf of Droitwich Spa High School, took bronze in the girls’ (Years 8/9) over 72kg category

Eve, who also competed the same weekend for Westacre Middle School, competed in the under 50kg special needs category where she took gold.

This was the first-ever gold Droitwich Spa Judo Kan claimed in the special needs category.

Head coach Thomas Ewins said: “Both sisters represented our club, and schools and did us all proud.”

A spokesperson from Droitwich Spa High School added: “We are delighted to hear that Megan has done so well.

“Success in national competitions like this is not easy to achieve and Megan’s bronze medal is testament to her hard work, determination and positive approach to all that she does.

“These are the qualities we would want to see in all of our students.”
