FOOTBALL: BROMSGROVE Sporting face Bolehall Swifts in their last Midland Combination Premier match of the season tomorrow.

Sporting have had their most successful season to date finishing second in the Midland Combination Premier Division and will be wanting to finish off on a high note.

Bolehall Swifts on the other hand will be hoping to secure fourth place in the league where they currently stand on goal difference above their local rivals Atherstone Town.

The Rouslers have had a tremendous season so far finishing second and just three weks ago were giving champions Brocton a run for their money.

In one season Adrian Mander has built a squad that have gone on from strength to strength after a wobbly start to a 13-match unveaton run at the back end.

“We are ending the season on a high and to finish second is an excellent achievement.” he said.

“I came in over the summer and and have built a brand new side. I

“It has been an excellent season and it’s a pity we didn’t start the season stronger.

“Early on we were drawing and losing games but we turned the corner in December.”

One of Mander’s signing was Matk Bellingham from Wolverhapton Casuals, who is the league’s top scorer with 43 goals.

“He has had a marvellous season and the good thing for me know is we have this good side and perhaps need half a dozen players to strengthen the squad and have been talking to a couple already.” said Mander.

“The chairman and the club have been very supportive.

“We have loads to build on and the foundations are there.”

Following the Bolehall game Sporting play Pilkington XXX away on Wednesday night in the semi final of the Smedley Crooke Cup with winner playing Malvern in the final at, of all places, the Victoria ground. on Saturday, May 10.

“I want the lads to finish with a win and get into the final.”

Tomorrow’s match at Bolehall Swifts’ Rene Road Ground is a 3pm kick off.
