Town teams join forces to boost football in Droitwich

DROITWICH Spa FC and Droitwich Spa Boys and Girls U21s have teamed up in a bid to boost the sport in town.

The two teams used to be separate entities but the agreement will all the cross-signing of players to allow the under-21s an opportunity to progress into the West Midlands (Regional) League Division One side.

First team joint-boss Mark Owen’s link with the Heart of Worcestershire College may also give the Saltmen’s youngsters to take on a footballing career through the HOW Academy.

A club statement said: “Members of both clubs are all very excited for the future of football within Droitwich Spa.




“Both clubs will begin to help and support each other during the course of the current season while working towards reinstating the reserve team for the start of the 2019/20 campaign.”
