IT IS set to be a walk in the park for a host of Droitwich footballers when they take part in a new version of the beautiful game.
People are being invited to take part in a Walking Football taster session on Monday (September 21) organised by Droitwich Vets FC and the Worcestershire FA.
The key difference in the rules from standard football is that if a player runs then they concede free kick. This restriction, together with a ban on slide tackles, is aimed both at avoiding injuries and facilitating the playing of the sport by those who are physically disadvantaged.
The event will be held on the Astroturf pitch at Droitwich Leisure Centre and will take place between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
