Warburton leads the way for Kazoku-Kan at British Schools Regional Championships

IT WAS a day to remember for Kazoku-Kan Judo Club’s Eleanor Warburton who claimed gold at the British Schools Regional Championships in Cardiff.

Representing Blessed Edwards Oldcorne Catholic School, Warburton fought well to finish top in the over-70kg category.

Success for Eleanor came after her sister Felicity and brother Joshua took part in the Maesteg Judokwai Green belt and under competition in Wales.

First to fight was Joshua, who in his first competition since May this year, put up a fantastic effort against opponents from higher categories to walk away with the silver medal.

Felicity also put a brilliant display against higher-ranked fighters to claim bronze.

Elsewhere, clubmate Jordan Phillips earned a gold medal at an age and team competition held in Erdington, Birmingham.
