Whealdon storms to Woodland View Fishery Saturday Open victory

IAN WHEALDON reigned victorious at the latest round of the Preston Innovations Saturday Open at Woodland View Fishery.

Fishing short pellet and corn green on peg 29 at High Pool, Whealdon (Gloucester) secured victory with his mixed bag of 76lbs 6oz.

Mike Edge (Veterans) on peg 26 came in second with his catch of 71lbs 14oz while Wayne Panting (Peg One Angling) claimed third with 60lbs from peg 1.

Phil Bishop (Peg One Angling) finished in a respectable fourth place with his mixed bag of 55lbs 14oz.




JOHN NEWTON was catch of the day at the Sunday PM Open on Deans Pool as he claimed victory with his bag of more than 100lbs.

Fishing caster shallow and down the edge from peg 37, Newton (Smithy’s) took first place with his catch of 101lbs 14oz.


Dan Maxwell (Frenzee), fishing pellet shallow down the edge from peg 48, came in a close second with his bag of 99lbs 10oz.

Rob Wilson (St Stephen’s) claimed third with his catch of 92lbs and 10oz from peg 61 while Steve Lovell (Bilston Angling) finished fourth from peg 42 with a catch of 80lbs.
