Young gymnasts come on leaps and bounds

THERE was a host of talented gymnasts from Bromsgrove and Droitwich representing their county at the West Midlands Gymnastics Championship.

Worcestershire Gymnastics Academy sent six teams to the University of Worcester to compete on floor, vault, high bar and trampette with the top three scores being counted.

All the gymnasts competed very tidy routines giving the club five team gold medals and trophies as well a silver medal place.

The squad also achieved 11 individual medals with Callum Braathen, Ben Harvey, Alice Dankenbring all winning gold and Sophie Taylor and Toby Atkin taking silver medals.




The club competed in u11 Intermediate mixed gold, u11 advanced boys silver, u9 beginner boys gold, u9 advanced girls gold, u13 intermediate mixed gold and over 16 intermediate mixed gold.

The gymnasts come from all over the county to represent the county at these championships, which head coach Andy Hall said gave an amazing account of their ever-growing progress.
