JOINT-manager Wayne Oliver praised youngster Haydn Morris after his goal-scoring display helped Droitwich Spa progress to the next round of the Presidents Cup.
Morris’ solo effort capped off a superb opening period for Spa who led Rostance Edwards 3-0 at half-time, with Macaulay Finch and James Lemon also netting.
The visitors, who have made a fine start to life in Midland Football League Division Two, got one back after the break, but Oliver’s and Mark Owen’s side saw out a comfortable win.
And Oliver was quick to hail the performance of Morris, who was promoted from the club’s youth set-up in the summer.
“We were delighted with the way our lads played especially with all the changes,” Oliver said. “Haydn’s goal was a highlight giving him his first senior goal after joining us pre-season from youth football.
“He has been exceptional in attitude and worked hard in training he deserved his start and his goal.”
