THE luxurious retirement village, Mount Battenhall in Worcester are delighted to be partnering with local company, Instant Scenery winner of a BALI National Landscape Award.

Roof terraces and balconies at the prestigious retirement village will be enhanced by a show garden designed and installed by Instant Scenery, and we would like you to decide on the final design to be installed.

The collaboration project aimed at elevating the beautiful balconies and roof terrace areas will be completed early 2024 and comprise detail inspired by historical artifacts and traditional materials from Worcestershire.

Three fantastic designs have been created by Instant Scenery following a brief delivered by Sarah Harper, Sales and Marketing Manager, who said ‘Dan at Instant Scenery and his team have cared and nurtured the planting areas and manicured the 6 ½ acres of grounds at our Grade 11* listed Mount Battenhall and have a culture of respect for tradition and heritage. They were the perfect partner to design and install our show garden.’ The drawings of the designs are on display at Mount Battenhall in the Atrium and Astley Villa.

The competition will run from mid-November until 22nd December when a winner will be selected and announced via social media Mount Battenhall Facebook page, Instagram and via the ERL website https://www.erl.uk.com/retirement-villages/mount-battenhall/news/competition-time-be-involved-in-our-new-rooftop-garden-design/. The chosen design will be installed on the roof terrace of a penthouse suite at Mount Battenhall during January 2024.

The winner will receive a bottle of the local Hussingtree Blended Mount Battenhall Gin.

Inspiration for the show garden reflected the bricks used from the oldest part of the house, these were manufactured by Coalbrookdale Co Ltd in Lightmore, Shropshire and further inspired by the Arts and Crafts architectural design of the infamous Battenhall Gatehouse. Soft landscaping within each design includes espalier fruit trees, black pear and a Worcester cox, traditional with Worcester. Contemporary lighting further enhance the gardens to offer alfresco dining and entertaining areas well into the night.

To view the designs, enter the competition, or to see the show garden big reveal, interested parties are invited to register by contacting the sales team on 01905 347121 or emailing [email protected].
