PEOPLE’S top ten TV moments of 2018 have been revealed after a poll carried out by furniture retailer ScS.
According to the survey, participants said their fondest moment was the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with more than a quarter of people putting that first.
Next was the moment England beat Columbia on penalties (23 per cent), followed by England beating Sweden in the quarter-final (18 per cent) in third and the World Cup Final (17 per cent) in fourth.
The rest of the top ten were Jodie Whittaker becoming the first female Doctor Who, Theresa May dancing at the Conservative Party Conference, The Bodyguard – Julia Montague dies, Dec presenting Saturday Night Takeaway on his own, Big Brother finishing for good and Britain’s Got Talent – the Manchester terror attack victim singing.
Between the sexes, more women voted for the Royal Wedding (34 per cent) than men (19 per cent), and vice versa for the World Cup, with a quarter (25%) of men voting for England’s win over Colombia compared to just 16 per cent of women.
Adam Keys, ScS executive, said: “Getting the chance to take a look back at the year makes us realise how much has happened in such a short period of time, including some incredible events that will go down in history.
“With Harry’s relationships being closely watched for so long and with how much us Brits love a Royal Wedding, it’s no surprise that their fairytale wedding is this year’s most memorable TV moment, whilst football fever hitting the nation was definitely something we will remember for years to come!”
ScS has put together a quiz on some of 2018’s most memorable moments of the year.
