Seven one-act plays to be staged in two days at the Worcestershire Theatre Festival in Droitwich

THIS YEAR’S Worcestershire Theatre Festival takes place at Droitwich’s Norbury Theatre tomorrow and Sunday, March 3 and 4.

There will be seven one-act plays performed across the two days.

The event kicks off at 4pm tomorrow afternoon with the Norbury Theatre’s Cruise Missile. The 30-minute play by Jean McConnell centres on Janet who embarks on her first cruise and finds a fellow passenger who is willing to be her guide and mentor.

Next up is Chicken by Mark Wheeller. That will be performed by the Norbury Theatre’s Youth Group and tells the story of two cousins.

The third play tomorrow is by renowned playright David Tristram and is being staged by DYTG. Last Tango in Little Grimley centres on an amateur dramatics group which, after the numbers dwindle to four, opt to put on a sizzling raunchy comedy.

And the curtain will be brought down on tomorrow’s offerings with Psychopath by Brenda Read Brown about Tim and Suzie who, after seeing each other for three years suddenly start to find out other things about each other.

TADS (Tewksbury Arts and Dramatic Society) stage the 30-minute piece.

Sunday’s session starts at 2pm with Imagine by Stephen Moran, a play about John Lennon being put on by Mayhem Theatre.
