Changes to waste collections in Droitwich over Christmas and New Year

WYCHAVON District Council has made various changes to its waste collection dates over the Christmas period.

To avoid collections on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, waste will now be collected on Wednesday, December 27 and Thursday, December 28.

Scheduled collections on Wednesday, December 27 will now be collected on Friday, December 29.

The last changed collection will be on Saturday, December 30 rather than Thursday, December 28.

General waste collections which were scheduled for January 1, 2, 3, and 4 will now be two days later.

For example residents whose general waste was due to be collected on Tuesday, January 2 will see it removed on Thursday, January 4.




However, collections previously due on Thursday, January 5 will be collected on Monday, January 8.

Collections which were due on January, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 will now be collected a day later.


For example, a collection due on Wednesday, January 10 will now be collected on Thursday, January 11.

The council will also collect up to an additional two black bags during collections between Wednesday, December 27 and Monday, January 8.

Extra recycling can be put next to your green bin in clear sacks.These are available from libraries in Broadway, Droitwich Spa, Evesham and from the Civic Centre in Pershore.

Bins must be out for collection by 7am.

Real Christmas trees can be put in your garden waste bins. You can cut it into manageable sections, no more than 4ft in height, and leave it beside your garden waste bin.
