THE INITIAL times and areas this year’s Droitwich Santa Sleigh will be visiting has been officially announced by the town’s Lions Club.

As with every year, weather and other circumstances beyond the group’s control, may mean changes have to be made to the schedule.

The Sleigh has now been running for more than 50 years after it was started by the Round Table.

Where will Father Christmas be?

On the first night – Saturday, November 29 – The Droitwich Spa Sleigh visits Worcester Road, before heading to Westlands, Ledwych and Honeymans on November 30 and to Celvestune Way on December 1.

On December 2, the man in the big red suit will be on Cockshute Hill and, on Wednesday, December 3, he will be on the Chawson estates.

On December 4, Father Christmas will visit Primsland Way Central before going to Hanbury Road and Dodderhill on December 7.

It will be the turn of Primsland Way on December 9 (Primsland Way East) and December 10 (Primsland Way West).

Santa will journey to Addyes Way on December 11.

On Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13, the Sleigh will be static at the precinct from 10.30am to 2.30pm on both days.

Father Christmas will be on the move again on Sunday, December 14, as he makes his way to the Copcut Estate and then – on Monday, December 15 – onto Stalls Farm and Bower Hill.

On December 16, Santa will go to Tagwell and Witton and then onto Tagwell Heights on December 18.

On December 19 and 20, the sleigh will be static at Waitrose in Droitwich town centre – from 10.30am to 2.30pm on both days.

And he will conclude this year’s Droitwich Santa Sleigh Run on December 21 by touring the Yew Tree Estates.

Some dates have been left free to accommodate rearranged dates in the event of any cancellations due to the weather or other eventualities.

Anyone able to help with any of the dates should email Bill Phillips at [email protected]

Bill has also urged parents not to tell their children when Father Christmas is due in case runs have to be cancelled because of weather conditions, illness, or other unforeseen circumstance.
