Droitwich Dental Studio - Offering treatments like no other - now and for the future

A DENTAL surgery like no other has opened its doors in Droitwich and the owner wants it to be firmly in the heart of the community.

Droitwich Dental Studio, which can be found at 2 Old Market Court in the High Street, has all the latest technology available to ensure patients’ teeth and oral health is the best it can possibly be.

Owner AJ and his dentist wife Neha, have had the building majorly revamped so it is accessible to absolutely everyone including full disabled access.

There were just two staff working at the previous practice – Droitwich Dental Studio now has eight, creating and attracting many local jobs to the High Street.

Among them is treatment co-ordinator Jade who is there to attend to patients as soon as they arrive and help them start their journey to getting the top quality treatment they deserve.

AJ worked with Jade five years ago and handpicked her for her abilities.

AJ said: “As Neha and I have trained further in different specialised areas of dentistry, it means can offer all services available under one roof.”

The surgery itself

No stone has been left unturned when it comes to the attention to detail.

Nervous patients have nothing to fear – the reception has plenty of things to keep them at their ease – from a mini retro 1980s PacMan arcade machine to a turntable and selection of vinyl records to choose to listen to while they wait, along with a television.

There is a deliberate contrast between the modern dental technology and decor of the inside the building with a nod to Droitwich’s proud past.

A fine example is the unique artwork commissioned to town artist Rosie Philpott – famous for her wonky pictures.

This piece displays the Droitwich Dental Studio’s apt motto: “Visit the wonky street and leave with a straight smile.”

The practice prides itself on high end and specialist dental surgery and this building and all the equipment within it has been perfectly designed to enable that, all in a calming, luxurious environment.

Equipment includes a 3D CT scanner for those who need it, a hygienist room for those intensive cleans and a high-tech, top-of-therange, microscope which – one of only a few in the whole of the West Midlands – can give dentists the chance to examine teeth with a view 20 times more powerful than the human eye.

Practitioners can see exactly what is going on and what needs to be done.

Photography is also at the heart of treatment – AJ said it was important patients could visually see the problems presented and subsequent treatments performed, to aid education and perhaps most importantly trust.

Such is the level of technology and expertise here, the practice receives referrals from other practices when complex dental procedures need to be carried out.

Top hygiene and helping the environment

Technology is also helping Droitwich Dental Studio reduce its carbon footprint – digital scans, rather than traditional messy impressions means less waste of raw materials, and an improved patient journey

AJ said: “We’re striving to be carbon neutral, which is very rare in dentist surgeries and clinical settings in general.”

As you can imagine, hygiene and cleanliness is a top priority for clinical environments and AJ has gone the extra mile here too – the practice has its own decontamination suite which has been tailor-made for the job, complete with a tap-supply of distilled water for cleaning and sterilising instruments before they are stored in a completely germ-free environment.

What about NHS patients?

The practice does not take NHS patients but instead offers an affordable monthly membership scheme to keep prices to a minimum, for as little as £13-a-month.

AJ said: “People can tend to worry that if they don’t find an NHS dentist, it won’t be affordable – we prove that’s not the case.

“Unfortunately there is a collapsing national dental health service which no longer has the capacity to see and treat people under the NHS.

“We keep our prices as low as possible – we are an independent family business with a common goal – to expertly serve Droitwich patients and the local community.”

The practice is also helping local businesses – the disabled toilet can be used by traders and their customers who need it, the surgery has a heart defibrillator in case it is needed on the High Street and a noticeboard is being planned for one of the front-facing windows where town companies can advertise their businesses free of charge.

The practice is certainly a most valuable addition to the High Street.
