AN EXHIBITION by Worcester artist David Birtwhistle has gone on display at Hanbury Hall.

The collection features 70 original watercolours, mostly landscapes and buildings. Among them are Hanbury Hall, other places in Worcestershire, other National Trust venues and one or two Italian scenes.

There is also a selection of reproduction prints and cards.

David told The Standard: “I have had some lovely reactions from visitors to the hall.

“It is good because during Easter week there are a lot of family groups visiting.

“It’s an opportunity to discuss my work with some younger art appreciators than usual.”

The exhibition will be on display until May 1.

David has had his work exhibited in galleries up and down the land, both via his own collections and with societies, including the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and the Society of Architect-Artists.

He has also undertaken commissions from many distinguished clients and his watercolours have been reproduced as cards, prints and calendars.

He has also been commissioned for CD, record and tape covers, display panels and book covers.

The Spirit of Worcestershire published in 2001 features 30 of David’s watercolours.

His work is found in one royal and many public and private collections around the world.
