Packed month ahead for Droitwich Inner Wheel members

THERE is a busy month ahead for members of Droitwich’s Inner Wheel.

The programme for March will start at 2.30pm on Wednesday (March 8) with the Inner Wheel Anniversary Afternoon Tea at Tagwell Tea Rooms.

Then there will be a coffee morning on March 15.

On March 20 the monthly meeting will be held at Droitwich Golf Club, featuring guest speaker Ali Bowden from The Little Black Pig Company.

She will be showing slides of the progress of her business – from the farm to the shopping outlet at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre.

The final event of the month will be the District Committee Meeting Lunch at Barston at 10.30am on March 23.

At the February meeting President Glenys Griffiss welcomed members and a candle of friendship was lit with a wish for peace and friendship throughout the world.

International Service Organiser Lesley Mackenzie was thanked for hosting Inner Wheel Day when members shared practical activities, stitching together knitted squares into blankets for Overseas Aid and trimmed postage stamps for charity followed by a bring and share lunch.

The quiz organised at Rotary House had been well supported by other Inner Wheel Clubs from the district and by St John Ambulance and the Norbury Theatre.

An impressive £350 was raised for St. John Ambulance.

The annual elections for 2017/18 also took place with President Glenys Griffiss agreeing to serve a further term as club president.

Other roles included Lynda Gillespie as Vice-President, Pam Plumridge as Secretary and Lesley Mackenzie as International Service Organiser.

Committee members now include Moyra Withington, Wendy Moseley, Diane Sutch, Doreen Lambden and Liz Morris.
