School held an emotive service to mark Armistice Day

WITTON Middle School held an emotive service to mark Armistice Day on Friday, November 11.

The Drum Head Service was held in the school’s playground with special guests like Revd Laura Handy, Sgt Endean (4th Mercian) and Lt Childe RN.

Prayers, hymns and readings were involved in the service and the Last Post and Reveille were played by Sgt Endean and Dr J Powell.




Suzie Bourne, Headteacher, said: “It was a tremendous privilege to welcome serving officers from the Armed Forces into school to mark this poignant occasion.”

Charles Cooper and Imogen Mountford-Green laid a wreath on behalf of the school. s

The school also participated in Remembrance Sunday (November 13), where Charles Cooper and Imogen Mountford-Green laid a wreath on behalf of the school.
