DROITWICH Spa have announced the signing of former Football League striker Jamie Lucas.

Lucas made three appearances for Bristol Rovers at the start of his career, debuting for the Gas in a League Two fixture against Rochdale in the 2013/14 season.

He spent time on loan at Weston-super-Mare, Gloucester City, Boreham Wood and Woking before eventually departing Rovers for Bath City.

Lucas said: “I’m really excited to get started at Droitwich and get some minutes in, hopefully score some goals and get some wins.”

Spa manager Andy Crowther added: “Jamie brings a lot of experience with him and is a signing that I have chased for the last couple of years.

“He fits in to what we are trying to do and will be a valuable asset to what is already a strong squad.”

Following a brief spell with Bath, the 27-year-old went on to play for Brackley Town, Halesowen Town, Redditch United, Evesham United, Worcester Raiders and Stourport Swifts.

Lucas made his Droitwich debut in the club’s 4-2 win against Wolverhampton Sporting Community, appearing as a second-half substitute at the King George Playing Fields.
