THERE is just over a week for parents to get in their applications for places at Worcestershire’s primary, first, infant, junior or middle schools.
Parents of children born between September 1, 2014, and August 31, 2015, must apply for a September 2019 school place before the deadline of midnight on January 15 or they may not receive an offer for one of their preferred schools.
It can be done online by visiting www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions and filling out the online form. The site is secure and available 24/7, meaning last-minute changes are possible.
Parents will also receive a reference number which they can refer to in any future correspondence with Worcestershire County Council.
Coun Marcus Hart, cabinet member responsible for education, said: “Starting school is a big step for children and we aim to make this process as smooth as possible.
“We are pleased that with admission for September 2018 every child that applied had a place offered to them, with 93 per cent getting their first choice preference.
“However, it is especially important the deadlines are met to avoid missing out on a place.”
Those without access to the internet can get online by visiting any county library or by calling school admissions on 01905 822700.
